So, as of Thursday 16 June 2011, I am a proud member of the Clarksdale Municipal School District, holding the position of Strings Teacher of W.A. Higgins Academy of Arts and International Studies. I am pumped!
I met the superintendant, Dr. Dupree, and Principal Robinson. I was able to see Higgins - the arts facility is gorgeous, but I'm going to have a few difficulties with the instrument storage. This is going to be a good time, but a lot of work.
I'm doing requisition. It's hard to get quality instruments on a shoestring, even if they are Shaq's shoes. And then there are the racks for the celli and the music stands and the repertoire....this is cray-cray! I'm going to make it happen.
I can't wait to meet my chilluns.
